I did not attend this collage. I went to UCLA. But most Universities like this one do require that you have a GPA of at least 3.5 and pretty high scores on your STS's. I am sure they have a web site. I would do a goggle or ask.com search and find their web site. That way you can find out their requirements.

Hi there...UW is a competitive school so it definately helps to have higher SAT test scores as well as a strong overall GPA. Preference is given to those also who have participated in extracurricular activities which benefitted the community concurrently with a difficult study course load. Each department major also tends to be competitive as well ...for example the nursing school has been #1 for the past 15 years so preference to those who apply must have a 4.0 GPA. Business Administration deparment also has a high GPA requirement, etc. Please review the following website link to learn what UW looks for in prospective students: http://admit.washington.edu/BeforeYouApply/Freshman/Trends

I have my BA from there; yes, you should be fine. You have a lot of extra curricular activities, great SATs and GPA. You shouldn't have a problem. Some people think that as long as they have the grades, they are in. That is sooo way off! Schools want to know that you are well-rounded and can possibly contribute to other things, rather than just academia. The volunteer work you have done is great, especially if what you volunteered in is something you wish to continue in college (if you are interested in biology or medicine, etc). Good luck! It;s a very stressful time waiting to see if you get in. I know the feeling!

i too graduated from there. it is a good school, but your record looks pretty good too. i would expect you to get in U dub. good luck.
3 :
Yes, I got in with a 3.5 and a 1600. Everything else just makes you look STELLAR.

University of Washington - Seattle anyone?

University of Washington - Seattle anyone?
I'm considering applying for University of Washington - Seattle and I was wondering if anyone who's attended / or is attending could tell me about the school. Pros/cons. What's nice about it there and what I need to know as a precaution maybe. Anything would be great. Thank you so much! Oh and talking about the appyling process would also be helpful. As in, what they're really looking for in an application and any hints, etc. And what sort of essay they want written. =D I'm a junior in high school. =D

The campus is in the middle of a city, so there is a lot of crime. Students don't go out at night alone, even the guys (unless they're stupid and trying to be macho). There have been several muggings in the area lately. Also traffic in that neighborhood is kind of a nightmare pretty much all the time- so a lot of people walk everywhere. That said- it's a BEAUTIFUL area, it's a terrific school, and there is a ton of fun things to do around, no matter what you're interested in. Are you from the Seattle area or are you from out of state?

Ha, I just got accepted there for fall quarter next year myself. You should definitely apply, It's a public ivy and is a good value if you're from in state. I think in their application process now they're starting to focus more on more on things like extracurricular activities in high school and important interests on you. Also, they're pretty big on diversity, and if your essay incorporates some of that in your life it should be a plus. there's this website, theu.com that has pretty a lot of videos and ratings about schools like UW, I found it pretty entertaining and informative enough. You should check that out. p.s. I think that it might be too late to apply for fall quarter next year if that was what you were plannin though

There are no wrestling schools in Seattle or even in the State of Washington. If you don't believe me, go to Wikipedia and type in "list of professional wrestling schools".

There are traning classes...then there are wrestling classes...then there are generic training schools...and then there are wrestling school DYNASTIES. I don't know if there are any in Seattle Washington...I wouldn't think so since I can't think of any wrestlers FROM Seattle Washington off the top of my head. But even if there were...it wouldn't be worth it. Do you want to be trained to wrestle or do you want to be trained to be SPECIAL in the wrestling world. If you want the best training...you're gonna have to travel. If you don't have at least a semi-known/respected WRESTLER train you...then you've essentially learned how to daydream. Examples of the Wrestling Teacher's You'll Need To Be Special: Scott D'Amore Lance Storm Dory Funk If you wanna learn serious wrestling...you need to go to Canada...that's where the big guns go. I've got a buddy that trained under Lance Storm...i've seen videos...i'd go to his. If you wanna learn more about his then just go to: www.stormwrestlingacademy.com I've been to many independent promotions as a fan...and i've worked in a few as a wrestling manager (ya know...the guys like James Mitchell and Armando Estrada), and lemme tell you firsthand...i've seen guys that were sloppily trained wrestle...then i've seen CM Punk wrestle...and there IS most definantly a difference.

Does University of Wisconsin-Madison have a better pre-med program than University of Washington-Seattle?

Does University of Wisconsin-Madison have a better pre-med program than University of Washington-Seattle?
UW-madison is ranked 35 for undergrad, while UW-seattle is ranked 41. However, UW-madison's medical school is ranked 27 while UW-seattle is ranked 6. so, which would be the better option for pre-med?

Rank is important, but you need to go to a school that will ultimately fit you. Do a little research... the teachers you'd be taking classes from at each of these schools..... what are their specialties? Do these line up with what kind of medicine that you eventually want to practice? Wisconsin and Washington are VERY different places. Do you want to live in a big city? Or in a town where the college IS the town? Good luck!

What are my chances of being accepted into the University of Washington, Seattle?

What are my chances of being accepted into the University of Washington, Seattle?
In 9th grade I ended the school year with a 3.2 In 10th grade I ended the school year with a 3.1 I am currently in 11th grade and my GPA is a 3.0, I am hoping to get my GPA up to a 3.6 by the end of the year and next year I am doing PSEO or a dual credit Program. I have taken Honors English, College Psychology, and College Sociology. I am involved in Gymnastics, Track and Field, coaching gymnastics through Community Education, Business Professionals of America, Link Crew, High School Fall Musical/Play, and church mission trips. I have volunteered at 2 nursing homes since I was eight years old and I have a job at a restaurant and am looking to Transfer into the hospital kitchen area. I want to get into the nursing program and I am very dedicated to things I am interested in. I am an out of state student and I will be financially dependant on myself. I also volunteer at my church. What else can I do to better my chances of getting accepted, it means so much to me to be accepted here. If i don't get accepted what other good schools in Seattle would I most likely be accepted to?

The average GPA needed for the University of Washington is 3.72. It will be very difficult , if not impossible for you to raise your GPA to even 3.6 with the high school time that you have remaining. You can at least partially make up this deficit by doing very well on your SAT. You should begin preparing for it now./
