What is the best way to meet girls in the Seattle Washington area?
I am moving to Kent Washington near Seattle and I am 24 about to be 25 and looking for a serious relationships the majority of girls i have dated before I have met on the internet and from school when I was in High School and College. Now i am a teacher and I have found it hard to get out and meet new people any suggestions on helping me out?

Log off the computer and go out! Really the most obvious answer is the best one. There are plenty of places to meet women, even if you are not into the 'bar scene'. Coffee Shops Laundry Mats Grocery Store or probably the best option.....VOLUNTEER WORK! (the greatest women in the world can be found doing volunteer work, whether it is through a civic organization or even a church related group.....long term relationship is your goal? A COMPASIONATE woman is the one you seek!) Belive it or not, there are women EVERYWHERE....maybe you need to kick your self confidence drive in the rear and get it in gear! Good luck!

personal ads. I have also heard from a lot of sources that Tacoma is the single mother capital of the US. If you don't mind a chick who already has a kid, that could be a fruitful direction to look. I need to find some kind of park in Seattle, Washington?
I need to find some kind of park in Seattle, Washington?
I need to find a park in Seattle. I lived there for about 6 or 7 years and then i moved to Utah. I don't remember where the parks were exactly, i was young. So name (or describe) a few parks that are the closest to the Space Needle please. This is for my high school choir tour in April, i want to be prepared if the teacher asks if we should go to a park and have fun and do games. Curious question: I'm originally from Kent/Maple Valley, Washington. I moved from Kent to Maple Valley and then to Utah. Anyone here from Kent or Maple Valley?

There are many around the space needle, including Kerry Park Denny Park Olympic Sculpture Park Elliot Bay Park Myrtle Edwards Park Regrade Park ... and so many more! I'm not sure how far the location has to be, but there so many... http://www.maps.google.com >> type in "space needle" and look at all the other parks in the green. hope this helps!

I was living in Tukwila, which is close to Kent... moved to AZ. Seattle has soooo many parks. Discovery park is one of my favorites. When it comes to parks close to the Space Needle, I think of Gasworks Park. Great for kite flying, weddings, picnics, etc. In the picture (see link), the sky is blue. Don't let that fool anyone... it's a rarity.

There is a park called Kash Park I'm not sure where its located you can look it up .. here.. There is one called Carkeek Park its really nice its got a nice trail and a big feild then a beach. Its really nice, also a Salmon Hatchery thingy. You should go!

The Olympic Sculpture Park, http://www.seattleartmuseum.org/visit/osp/, an outdoor sculpture park that is a part of (though not connected to) the Seattle Art Museum is one of the best parks with amazing artwork and sweeping views of the Puget Sound, just minutes walking from the Space Needle. Denny Park is just a couple blocks away, but isn't so breathtaking, though it's been recently cleaned up more and more. The Seattle Center grounds are very much like a park in a lot of areas and you can hang out at the International Fountain, the Center House, the Fun Forest Amusement Park (complete with rides/games/video games)! Not from Kent/Maple Valley, but I did look at condos in the area a couple years ago, haha...

What are the pros and cons of the University of Washington (Seattle and Tacoma campus)?
What are the pros and cons of the University of Washington (Seattle and Tacoma campus)?
I have until May 1st to decide which school I'm going to. I have been accepted into both UW Tacoma and UW Seattle. They both offer to pay for tuition and books. I would have to take out loans just to live on the Seattle campus, but if I stayed in Tacoma then I would have to live at home. Any advice?

I'm going to uw seattle next year as a freshman!!!! its got a much better reputation that the tacome uw. the biggest benefit is its size. Its gorgeous and has SO much to offer, there are thousands of different classes and tons and tons of different majors. People there come from all over the world. one of the top research schools in the nation. maybe i will see you there!

University of Washington Medical School?
The UW med school is really good and ranked number one in primary care. I want to go there since I live in Washington state near Seattle and want to be a doctor. But according to some sites, UWSOM has only about 800 students. And it only accepts about 4% of their applicants. Is this true?

Yes this is true. The UW Medical school is the most prestigious in the country. Only 4% of applicants are accepted, making it one of the toughest to get into as well. But you can still go to the UW for your undergrad premed which would be much easier. The UW as a whole accepts about 65% of applicants, so you should have a good shot to at least get into the University.

In the Seattle/Tacoma area (Washington State), what is a "good" school district for Special Education?
In the Seattle/Tacoma area (Washington State), what is a "good" school district for Special Education?
We have a 2nd grade son with autism and are thinking of moving to the Seattle/Tacoma area. The specific area is up to Green Lake to the North, Auburn to the East, and Federal Way to the South (nothing across the Sound). My biggest anxiety is in finding an school district that has a good quality *Special Education* program for our special needs child. (I know, I know..."good" and "public school" are a difficult combination to find.) If you have experience with a school district in the mentioned area (good OR bad), could you please share? Or even an experience at a specific school? I appreciate your answers in helping our family with this very tough decision.

Which neighborhoods are the nicest in the Seattle, Washington area?
Which neighborhoods are the nicest in the Seattle, Washington area?
We are thinking about relocating to the Seattle area, and are looking for a quiet, residential neighborhood. We also have to consider an elementary school for our daughter. Which towns do you recommend?

Lacey is pretty cool. Why would you want to move there? It rains too much for me. Move to Hawaii.

I would reccomend Medina or Bellevue. Bellevue is only 10-15 minutes away from Seattle. It is just across the bridge and they have excellent schools and recreational activities. Medina is very nice. Most houses are water front(lake washington). Medina is very pricy although it has the newest elementary school in the area. Medina is about 5 minutes from Bellevue(not highway roads) and is the best sutible place for you family. It is beautiful, friendly and safe for your daughter to walk around by herself. Also if medina is a little to pricy I would reccomend issiquah. It is about 30 minutes from Seattle but still close enough. That area is very quiet and many new people move there every day. Hope this helps. A local real estate agencie is called John L Scott. I would take a look at their website called johnlscott.com

Seattle, although quite the city to visit during the summer is treacherous during the cold seasons, not only the rain, the winds, and the snow, but the biting cold. I don't recommend packing up and moving there without first going there during the hot and cold seasons. With regards to a neighborhood, there is a great area by the bay that has a lot of shops, kind of a mini version of SF bay and Catalina Island feel.

I recommend the eastside (east of lake washington, Seattle is on the west side of the lake). I raised my family in Kirkland and would suggest it or Bothell. Bothell is smaller and quaint. The Lake Washington school district is one of the best in the state, as is Bellevue.

I might be moving to Seattle, Washington within the next month. What are some areas to avoid? Where are the good schools? Where are some areas I should really look at to purchase a home? How is the weather?
