I am a 45 year old Marketing professional who's in the process of re-locating to Seattle, Washington. I'll be visiting Seattle next week to look at available condos. I've never visited there before. I like bars for mature black adults. Clubs that play Al Green and Marvin Gaye style music as well as some old school funk like Parliment/Funkadelic. Although I've been know to get my "jam" on, I'm not too much into the loud hip hop favored by the younger crowd. I prefer the jazz and classic soul flavored atmosphere. Pretty people, good music and healthy drinks. Know of anyplace like that? I'll have a car and can drive to where the real party is. I'll be staying near the airport and would like to check out some clubs on Wednesday or Thursday night. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, there aren't many choices. If you were staying longer (like until Sunday) then, I would suggest a few 'after church' Sunday brunches (Kingfish Cafe' -- The restaurant at the top of the Double Tree Inn near the airport) that are really good. But, there won't be any places that play ol' skool unless you find a bar with a digital 'jukebox' or you go to a native American tribal casino. I go to the Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn, WA.. If you are lucky, on certain nights, the casino will have a 'cover' band that plays R&B, funk, and soul. I would look into the Muckleshoot Casino first then, if that isn't working for you, Try the "Fin and Bone" Restaurant in Renton, WA.. They have live Jazz on certain nights during the week. Otherwise, you might as well stay at your hotel. Sorry, Seattle is just a bit too "white"! LOL! Not 'dissin' all the caucasian out there. Other than that, Seattle is a great place to live and raise a family. Hope you enjoy your stay! Peace!
