Is University of Washington (Seattle) a good pre-med school?

Is University of Washington (Seattle) a good pre-med school?
I heard the University of Washington has a TOP medical school, but it's in St. Louis. Is it good to go to the one in Seattle instead? Because I hate the location of the actual med school.

Either school would be great for premed; it doesn't matter if the school you attend for premed has a med school or not. Premed classes are in the bio, chem, physics, math, and English departments, not the medical school. And you can apply to any med school after doing premed anywhere.

University of Michigan dominates...just saying :)

thats tough because UM has a superior business program but 24k extra in loans is a huge sum and the difference in salary post graduation will probablly depend more on your internship, work experience, gpa, and interviewing prowess. I'd go UW, its still a good school

I don't think it is so much that these people migrated here as it is that those who were already here were accepted and supported in ways that many communities do not. People are generally allowed to be themselves in Seattle. Its part of what makes the city one of the most livable in the county.

Seattle is very accepting of gays, freaks, goths, weirdos and all kinds of "different" people.

The University of Washington is one of the best public universities in the US. US News ranks it at #42 -- making it a very good school. It will be academically challenging -- but the business world will reward that. I've only been to Seattle a few times. It reminds me of what San Francisco would be like if you raised the buildings, got rid of the people & plopped Minneapolis down on it -- if that makes any sense. It is a beautiful city with nice people. It is a bit coffee crazy, though.

UW is a really good school. Most of the students are absorbed by local companies like Microsoft, Amazon Boeing etc. Seattle is a good and unique place to be in. Lots of things to do and if you are an outdoor person, Seattle is the place to be in. You can go skii, rafting, kayaking, rock climbing, climbing etc or just about anything all in a perimeter of 40 miles. People are really nice and cultured and it relatively safer than most of US metropolis. Seattle has the most educated people in US and you will see the difference vis other cities Weather is kind of average, it snows 2 to 5 times a year and that too is modest (1-5 inches usually), there are no crazy storms to deal with. It rains a lot usually in the form of drizzle but rainy season sticks around for 7-8 months. Summers are really nice in Seattle, max temperature in summer is usually in between 70-90F. It rarely gets above 90 in a year (usually 2-8 times). Winters are mild too comapared to most of US. Day temperatures in winter are always in 30-50 F. If you are ok with few weeks of bright sunshine and lots of clouds then seattle is the best place in US.

Does the UW School of Medicine offer tours?

Does the UW School of Medicine offer tours?
I'm going to Seattle next week, and I was wondering if the University of Washington School of Medicine offers tours. I'm assuming there's a medical school outside of the affiliated hospital? I know that undergraduate colleges & universities give tours but I don't know if med schools do. I'm planning to eventually go to med school and thought I might as well check out the school while I'm there. Thanks for your help!

YES!

Contact them. Below is a link to the UW Med school Information sessions. If you can't attend a upcoming session, then I would recommend contacting them anyway to see if they could give you a tour. Possible. but not likely. It's just difficult for the school to have someone who gives tours to every aspiring young doctor (considering there are millions)
